Welcome! Under the Acacia Tree is a page dedicated to creativity in a new space. A new space can be many things–a new career, a new part of your life, a new place you’ve moved to. All change inspires creativity, and because change can be scary, I’ve created a safe space for experiencing change–in the shade of the Acacia Tree.
Why Acacia? For many reasons. Because it gives Gum Arabic–a wonderful artists’ tool that makes paint more transparent, can be used in transfers, and as a glue. And it’s edible–no, no, don’t go buy a jar and eat it, it’s not meant as a food–but it’s often found in food processing. The tree also provides shade in the hot native lands where it grows (and I live in one of those lands, the Sonoran desert) and it was transported successfully from the desert to Virginia (I came the other way) where it adapted and became known as the Blackthorn Tree. The tree changed and adapted and thrived in many climates.
So welcome to the section of my blog Under the Acacia Tree. Here you’ll find posts on creativity, creative ideas, and thriving in change.

Reminds me of the Banyan Tree which was one of the first groups I found on the internet back in the late 90’s. I loved the concept then and am just as taken with your Acacia tree now. Lovely idea Quinn.
