  1. Finnish mythology speaks of “The Swan of Tuonela”

“Tuonela, the Kingdom of Death, the Hades of Finnish mythology, is surrounded by a broad river of black water and rapid current, in which the Swan of Tuonela glides in majestic fashion and sings.”

Jean Sibelius wrote a haunting tone poem in 1893 depicting this. Find it – listen – see the swan. Enjoy.

  2. This is stunning, and a wonderful reminder that there is beauty in the world as well as pain. What is it about swans that speaks to us so strongly? The lights on the water are magical. Thanks to your brother, Quinn, and to you for sharing this.
